That’s Right. Momma Be Watchin’

Momservation: The Golden Rule: Don’t do it if you wouldn’t do it with Momma standing right there.

☺        ☺        ☺

My daughter told me the most beautiful words that made my heart sing the other day.

No, it wasn’t “I love you.” (Touching, but expected.)

No, it wasn’t “I cleaned my room without you asking.” (Blow me over with a feather, but not monumental.)

No, it wasn’t “I appreciate all you do for me.” (We throw parades for that one.)

Here’s what brought a little tear to my eye that I must be doing something right:

“Every time me and (best friend) see something totally funny but totally inappropriate that we want to retweet, we end up not doing it because we’re like ‘Can’t. Mom’s on Twitter and she’ll totally see it.’”

See? I’m getting all choked up again! Totally spiritual moment. The Heavens opened and shined a light upon her and the harps of a thousand angels strummed.

She gets it! She gets the Golden Rule: Don’t do it if you wouldn’t do it with Momma standing right there.

Or at least virtual Momma in the form of a Twitter account that follows you and makes you follow them back.

You know all those kids who are Tweeting and Retweeting totally inappropriate, cringe worthy content?

No Mommas on Twitter or checking Twitter.

It’s the equivalent of letting your kid run across the street during rush hour without looking. Why wouldn’t you try to protect them from themselves?

Not only does there need to be more Mommas on Twitter getting kids to think twice before posting (until it becomes common practice), but there needs to be more Mommas like this one in general:
