Momservation: “When it is dark enough you can see the stars.” ~ Charles A. Beard

Is it just me or is the weight of the world heavy right now?
I was cooking dinner last night and I just felt…weary. Emotionally exhausted. Spiritually spent.
“I need a beer,” I thought, not having turned to drowning my sorrows since my wayward youth. “The weight of the world is just too heavy.”
But before I could turn toward the fridge I heard a voice say: “Find the things that make it light.”
And I knew they weren’t talking about a light beer.
Whose voice was it? Mine? A spirit guide’s? God’s?
It didn’t matter. Instead of being freaked out I suddenly felt uplifted. I knew in my soul it was a life ring being tossed. Someone was trying to save me from drowning in these storm-surge waves of sorrow, helplessness, and anger caused by the current barrage of devastations and national turmoil.
And the answer was so simple: Don’t dwell on the things that weigh our souls down. Focus on the things that make them light.
I immediately went to my desk and began my list:
