{"id":13997,"date":"2015-12-29T13:19:19","date_gmt":"2015-12-29T21:19:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.momservations.com\/?p=13997"},"modified":"2015-12-29T13:19:19","modified_gmt":"2015-12-29T21:19:19","slug":"my-favorite-gift-this-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/momservations.com\/index.php\/2015\/12\/29\/my-favorite-gift-this-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"My Favorite Gift This Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Momservation: <\/strong>Peace, love, and friendship are great, but a gift that hits its mark is even better.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u263a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u263a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u263a<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanoutfitters.com\/urban\/catalog\/productdetail.jsp?id=36657146&amp;parentid=SUGGESTIVE+SEARCH+RESULTS&amp;q=642\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-13998\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-13998\" src=\"https:\/\/momservations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/writing-prompts-book-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"writing prompts book\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>It was just a tiny gift but a big gesture from a great friend\u2014a small book of writing prompts from someone who knows me well.<\/p>\n<p>I loved it.<\/p>\n<p>For someone who makes their living trying to come up with something to write about every week of the year (at least) and whose passion is writing, it makes sense that this small gift of friendship would be my favorite gift this Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>But like most of the fun, quirky things sold at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanoutfitters.com\">Urban Outfitters<\/a>, a chain with a hipster vibe known for on-trend fashions, accessories &amp; quirky home-decor items, this book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanoutfitters.com\/urban\/catalog\/productdetail.jsp?id=36657146&amp;parentid=SUGGESTIVE+SEARCH+RESULTS&amp;q=642\">642 TINY THINGS TO WRITE ABOUT (The San Francisco Writers&#8217; Grotto, $9.95)<\/a>, can be a fun gift for more than just your writer-friends.<\/p>\n<p>The fun, funny, thought provoking writing prompts that encourage everything from wit to brevity, to deep soul searching can also be great small talk starters, bar banter fodder, dull party game changers, Date Night conversation starters, or kickin\u2019 it with friends laughs and insights. Sample prompts include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Boil down <em>Hamlet<\/em>, Shakespeare\u2019s longest play to a Tweet. Now do the plot of the original <em>Star Wars<\/em>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>What was the first sign you knew you fell in love?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>What was the first sign you knew you fell out of love?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>There\u2019s a new cleanse diet. It was furnished. Was close to school.
