Best two reasons for Christmas ever<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I think I might have had kids just for Christmas.<\/p>\n

Seriously, when it was time to start planning for a family, figuring out when the time would be right, the weighty responsibilities involved\u2026I think it came down to one thing before we \u201chit the workbench\u201d as Hubby would say back in the baby making days.<\/p>\n

My green light statement might have actually been, \u201cI cannot go another Christmas without kids!\u201d<\/p>\n

I love Christmas. Love everything about it. The spirit of it that seems to raise everyone up to their best potential\u2026the sound of Christmas music\u2014especially Andy Williams\u2026the visual feast of festive decorations and holiday lights\u2026the smell of cookies baking and fires crackling\u2026the rich taste of fudge and peppermint\u2014that always taste best in the shape of a cane\u2026and, of course, our favorite man in red and white: Santa!<\/p>\n

There\u2019s nothing like being a kid at Christmas and waiting for Santa\u2019s arrival. The excitement! The anticipation! The glorious anxiety of wondering if you\u2019ve been good enough to get what you truly desire! The joy of realizing you must\u2019ve just squeaked in under the Naughty wire! The magic and wonder surrounding his mysterious deliveries\u2026believing with your entire being.<\/p>\n

The next best thing to being a kid a Christmas:<\/p>\n

Watching your own kids or grandkids relish in the joy of Christmas. Suddenly you realize Christmas just might be even more magical as adult. You aren\u2019t just waiting for Christmas to happen to you\u2014you get to make Christmas happen.<\/p>\n

Way cool. Worth having kids for. Great to remind yourself of this when they\u2019re being real snots and you\u2019re locking yourself in the bathroom with a glass of Chardonnay.<\/p>\n

Okay, since you guys can\u2019t get enough of my Pinterest boards with activities to do with kids<\/a>, I\u2019ve created a Christmas board<\/a> to keep the fun going and to help spread holiday magic (Peppermint Schnapps in your coffee will also do the trick).<\/p>\n

So without further ado, here you go. I try to keep the projects simple and easy\u2014less than 5 ingredients or 5 steps (my kind of cooking and parenting). Christmas is what you make of it, so you might as well make it fun:<\/p>\n
