Momservation: <\/strong>A good kid is a tired kid.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u263a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u263a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u263a<\/p>\n

We interrupt this regularly scheduled productivity and profitability for Spring Break \u2013 when children are let out of school for a week to test the boundaries of their parents\u2019 patience and flexibility.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

For parents it\u2019s a tough break \u2013 figuratively and literally (for inside joke see last week\u2019s Always and Never<\/a><\/strong>). It either breaks your pocket book because as a working parent you now have to spring for a babysitter, day camp, or take a week of unpaid vacation (paid if you\u2019re lucky). If you\u2019re an at home parent it threatens to break your spirit with kids bouncing off the walls with spring fever.<\/p>\n

For me, I look at it as spring training for summer. It\u2019s an exercise in keeping the kids so busy that they will be begging for school to start again. My longtime slogan has always been: You Want Summer? I\u2019ll Give You Summer Da**it!<\/a><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve made adults cry who\u2019ve tried to keep up with us.<\/p>\n

So, if I\u2019m going to take time off from my regularly scheduled programming because the kids are out of school, then dang it, let\u2019s DO this thing!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how it\u2019s shaping up so far:<\/p>\n

SATURDAY: Day of baseball and BBQ.<\/p>\n

Everyone\u2019s still in good spirits.<\/em><\/p>\n

SUNDAY: Word of the day: Sure!<\/em><\/strong> Can we go creek walking? Sure!<\/strong> Can we have friends over? Sure!<\/strong> Can we make sno-cones? Sure!<\/strong> Can we tear up the lawn playing ball? Sure! <\/strong>Can we swim in an iceberg laden pool? Sure!\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

First kid cries at bedtime, exhausted and not wanting to get up early for next day\u2019s event.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>MONDAY: Snow skiing at Sugar Bowl <\/a>in Tahoe thanks to free passes and only an hour and a half away. Perfect illustration of spring in California \u2013 one day swimming the next day skiing in fresh powder in a snow storm.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Second kid cries. When I ask why they sob, \u201cI don\u2019t know why!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>TUESDAY: A day of junk food, miniature golfing and Lazer Tag at Golfland Sunsplash <\/a>thanks to some more free passes, Grampa in tow. Competition level: High. It\u2019s getting hard to beat the kids, Mommy\u2019s considering cheating. Night at the Little League ballpark, hot dogs and Icees all around.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

WEDNESDAY: Snow skiing with some free passes at Sierra at Tahoe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

THURSDAY: Going with a herd of kids and moms looking to keep them busy to see the movie Rio<\/a>. Thank goodness for more free passes and smuggled treats.<\/p>\n

FRIDAY: Heading an hour and a half west to the beach at Pacifica<\/a> and to see cousins.<\/p>\n

SATURDAY: More baseball and Easter preparations.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>SUNDAY: The Easter bunny arrives and we will try to put the nail in the coffin of Fun Tired via death by chocolate.<\/p>\n
